Poor quality build, locking mechanism gets stuck easily and is impossible to unlock without breaking altogether. Avoid until they redesign.
I bought it because I wanted to try out this Steam Deck DS project that's becoming popular right now on the console subreddit, and everyone is using this mount for their second screen. I couldn't be happier with the result, a very study and reliable mount.
Although the mount isn't designed for this, it holds the weight of the 7-inch monitor very well. The included Magsafe ring was attached to the screen and is very securely attached to the mount's magnet. The screen won't fall off even if you shake it. In fact, it's hard to remove, so make sure you position the monitor correctly. It is a heavy setup tho.
It would be incredible if they made a mount more specific for this use case (a "clamshell mount", perhaps?), one that could also rotate horizontally to better frame the screen. I had to remove the ring a couple of times to position it better before I was happy with the result, but I understand that it's a very niche productl, not all measurements are suitable , and there is no standard to guide you. It's also a difficult setup to leave resting on a table, as the mount itself protrudes and the screw on the bottom can make it more unstable.

It feels super sturdy and durable. No matter what angle you put it at, the console will stay put and the kickstand won't come loose.
Very easy to put on and take off Deckmate, a must-have accesory if you get the grip. Don't expect to fit the console in the official Steam Deck case with this attached. You can only store it with the Deckmate, however the kickstand fits in the back of the case (it may fall due to its size tho).

It fits perfectly and stays securely attached to the console as expected. Very good quality material, very discreet, lightweight, very versatile with all the accessories available here, it fits the Deck like a glove!
The microSD card is also securely attached and can be easily removed with a small space left in the slot to insert your fingernail.
I could store it in the official Steam Deck case, although it is obviously a little tight. Just be aware that it will leave a mark on the case due to the pressure when closed.

Have been wanting the Gaming Pillow since I watched the Retro Game Corps review a while ago. But with shipping, VAT and handling fee at customs in Norway I didn't see the value. Now they have lower shipping fee and I paid VAT when I ordered. The product is awesome, I will probably buy a few more for my kids.

I was hoping to use this with Amtrak tray tables but unfortunately those are too thick for the mount to work. It worked great on a flight but was hoping to also use it on trains.
Had gotten one with the gaming pillow but it broke before i owned it for 30days. The dudes at mechanism helped me out and shipped me a replacement asap. Genuinely good dudes doing honest business. I will definitely be buying more doodads soon.
It's an expensive pillow that I will never rest my head on, but it has a premium feel and makes for an excellent stand for my steamdeck. The included deckmate grip fits perfectly, unfortunately it will not adapt to my skull co. case.
The pillow is soft and firm, allowing many ways to use it as a stand whether lying down or sitting upright. The arm is very sturdy and easy to adjust---definitely strong enough for heavy handhelds. The ball-joint is also easy to adjust for different viewing angles. Ultimately, this creates a great "hands free" experience even if you are holding the steamdeck controls.
The locking mechanism is also great. It takes a little getting use to, but it allows for a secure lock and is easy to remove from the arm. Why would I remove my deck from the pillow? Well, the many accessories and additional mount on the pillow allow for multiple devices to use the cushioned stand as well: phones, tablets, controllers, keyboards/mouse pads, small screens, small laptops...
So I am very happy about my purchase!
This item opened up a world of possibilities for me. I became fixated on using my steamdeck while getting my daily walk in. The GoPro Mount made it relatively easy and inexpensive, reusing gopro attachments i already had. I attached a PS5 controller to a gopro clamp mount using bits from a helmet mounting kit. The little locking tab is a nice touch, especially with all the extra movement my controller sees while attached to my treadmill.
Im only giving this review in hopes this issue will be fixed for future customers. I love Mechanism and all the products I've tried, but this one has a major flaw: it has rendered the aux port completely unusable. Im not using a headset with a fat base on the cord or anything of the sort (HyperX Cloud III.) I bought this grip to use with the GoPro Mount (in combination with gopro attachments i already had) on a treadmill. It serves its purpose well but will require removing/reattaching the PS5 DualSense Controller Grip each time i swap between treadmill and online gaming.
It's smaller & lighter than I expected which is good. It's pretty much a small bean bag with a stand.

I’m based in the UK, so getting the gaming pillow and phone mount took about a week to arrive (luckily I was abroad at the time, so the wait wasn’t an issue). The pillow has genuinely been a game changer, I didn’t realize portable gaming could be even more comfortable than it already was.
I use both a Switch and an Ally, and I used to get numbness in my pinky finger after just a few minutes, which meant constantly adjusting my grip to stay comfortable. Now I can play for hours after work, and it’s honestly the best feeling.

The claw is perfect for Mounting my Steam Deck (and iPhone) when there is no flat surface for the kick stand and I want to use my controller. The grip is tight but won’t damage whatever you connect it to. Great Product.
