Phone Mount

I love it. Fantastic design. Personally own a 3D printer so I love that I can print simple attachments for different gadgets myself and order the more complex bits from mechanism. Now I want this on the back of everything.

This phone mount is pretty great. The actual magnet side is 98% flat, but not entirely, doesn't cause any issues.

I bought this with a Universal Mount to use with my Gulikit KKM3 controller. I thought for sure it'd fit perfectly, but because of the analog/digital switches foe the triggers, i had to modify my controller to allow for the size of the mount.

Future reference, ask for the dimensions for custom setups!

I bought it because I wanted to try out this Steam Deck DS project that's becoming popular right now on the console subreddit, and everyone is using this mount for their second screen. I couldn't be happier with the result, a very study and reliable mount.

Although the mount isn't designed for this, it holds the weight of the 7-inch monitor very well. The included Magsafe ring was attached to the screen and is very securely attached to the mount's magnet. The screen won't fall off even if you shake it. In fact, it's hard to remove, so make sure you position the monitor correctly. It is a heavy setup tho.

It would be incredible if they made a mount more specific for this use case (a "clamshell mount", perhaps?), one that could also rotate horizontally to better frame the screen. I had to remove the ring a couple of times to position it better before I was happy with the result, but I understand that it's a very niche productl, not all measurements are suitable , and there is no standard to guide you. It's also a difficult setup to leave resting on a table, as the mount itself protrudes and the screw on the bottom can make it more unstable.

The arm mount with DualSense grip has been a game changer. Flipping the arm to go under the controller is my preference since it balances the setup and allows the controller to function as a stand when I’m setting it down.

UPDATE: Spoke with support and they sent me out a warranty replacement. They said the product was revised so I’ll kick the tires and hope it doesn’t happen again but service was top notch and appreciate that this small team was able to address my issue in a prompt manner.

The major flaw is the plastic on the screw knob. It became bitter after a few months and keeping tension became impossible, when I inspected it there were cracks all over the plastic surrounding the threaded screw. I've reached out to customer service via chat seeking a replacement screw but haven't heard back as of yet. Might explore a 3D print solution but would prefer not to jury rig this and don't want to spend another $25 for a simple screw that failed.

This can be used in so many ways. I’m not using it to its full potential at the moment. I love the whole concept and how one piece of equipment can do so much. The shipping wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be either.

I use it with my Xbox controller.
A bit expensive (from Italy), but I don't regret the purchase at all.
I was using the 8BitDo clip, but this is way better.

I had an idea months ago to create a way to attach two screens to my Ally for 3DS Emulation. Oddly enough this was brought to my attention after I posted a video on TikTok about attaching your Android to your Windows based handheld via SpaceDesk as a monitor. With the Ally Mate this makes the most epic duo, I even tested the universal attachment on my AyaNeo Next Lite and the adhesive is extremely strong. Awesome kit, it should be marketed more!

I've been dying for a phone mount since I got my deckmate last year. I commute on a train daily and wanted to watch shows while gaming. I appreciate the locking mechanism included on the train mount to ensure nothing moves during the bumpy ride. The photo shows the clip with lock. I'll be using this multiple times a week!

The phone mount is a testament to how far deckmate has come. It’s solid, constructed very well, and has features I didn’t even think about.

The locking mechanism that holds it fast to the deckmate 1.5/allymate is great!

I wish the kickstand had the lock

This has been an item I've eagerly been awaiting that fills a perfect need for users of mechanism. Whether you want to stream video and multitask while gaming, or want a convenient tutorial or game guide handy this is the perfect accessory.

When this was announced on Reddit I followed the development closely as this was something I needed in my life. Tried making my own jank version of this but it did not work. Once this finally got into my hands I was blown away by the quality of this thing! So solid and easy to use. Very very well built with no bending and it’s adjustable as well. 10/10 part that works with the amazing deckmate.

I got this to have a secondary stand on the pillow for a phone attachment or something else. The bar is too long and gets in the way of having a switch or anything else docked. But I was able to unscrew the pieces from each other and attach the magnetic piece directly onto the mount "outie." This keeps the phone or any battery backup down much lower and worked good for adjusting angle as well.

Amazing products! Wonderful customer service. The pillow is a must for steam deck.

It's a phone mount, the magsafe stuff works, the handle is pretty strong and sturdy enough for a phone, it can even be taken apart and put back together, which is really nice

Works great. Very strong and works with OnePlus 15 cases. An extending feature would be nice.

Holds phone perfectly however using it with a switch2 or steam deck it seems a little flimsy but doesn't feel like it will break, for price it works well and does what I need

I've been extremely impressed with this phone mount from Mechanism. The build quality is stellar and everything feels solid, well-engineered, and built to last. I originally bought it to use with my Steam Deck, but it's proven to be far more versatile than I expected. After picking up the new Steam Controller, I started using it regularly with Steam Link, and the mount has adapted perfectly to that setup as well. One of my favorite features is the included magnet, which let me mount my phone above my laptop screen during practicum sessions for my mental health counseling classes. That made it much easier to keep video calls and reference materials in a comfortable position without cluttering my workspace. Overall, it's a thoughtfully designed product with excellent craftsmanship and amazing versatility. It's one of those accessories that keeps finding new uses long after the original reason you bought it.
