Basegrip for Steam Controller
Grip available day one. Dock coming June 2026.
Unlock your Controller's full potential.
Our Basegrip for Steam Controller is perfectly contoured to the back of your controller, allowing for direct integration into the entire Mechanism ecosystem of mounts.
Designed to disappear entirely, you'll completely forget it's there unless you need it.
This is a Xbox Steam Deck
Mount your phone on your controller and use the Steam Link app to seamlessly stream from your gaming PC. Or keep your Discord and walkthroughs close. Or call your Grandma while you play.
Unfortunately, the controller doesn't work across all of iOS or Android yet. Maybe someone will hack the firmware for the good of mankind?
Who dis? Skadis.
We're PC gamers. It's a right of passage to hang a Skadis Board right next to our desk. It's a key component to our battlestation. Let's put it to work for the Steam Controller.
Introducing the Steam Controller Dock
Perfectly weighted for your controller lifting pleasure, our Dock is designed to proudly display, charge, and connect your Steam Controller. Put your controller in hero stance.
Coming June 2026.
Do not give us money.
If you own a 3D printer, the files for the Basegrip and a stripped down Dock that works with the included cable are freely downloadable, remix-able, and entirely printable.
Designed to be printed with as few supports as possible, and in the strongest orientation to oppose the mounting forces.
A moment of gratitude to you and Valve.
We started on Reddit weeks after the Steam Deck was first shipped, and we've been riding the wave of that initial viral moment ever since. What started out as a 3D printed prototype quickly blew up into real products solving real problems.
It's not hyperbole to say that Mechanism only exists because of you, Reddit, and Valve. We get to build our dream products every single day. It makes me wake up with purpose and drive like I've never experienced before. That is the feeling I've been chasing my entire life, and I was able to find it here because of you.
This project specifically has only been possible due to the help from the amazing folks at Valve. You know who you are. Thank you.

Questions we imagine might be frequent
Does the Basegrip interfere with the charging/wireless Puck?
Nope, not even in the slightest! We were able to design around it.
When will these products be released?
The Basegrip is available immediately, and the Dock will be available for purchase in June.
All other mounts shown here are also available right now.
Can you use the Dock without the Basegrip?
Yes, the Dock works entirely without the need for our Basegrip. We made it to ensure there was compatibility with our products, but it doesn't require them.
What will the price be for the Dock?
We don't know yet, but we're targeting as low as possible. Once our final manufacturing costs are solidified we will announce a price. Join the waitlist above to be the first to know!
Does the Steam Controller work on iPhone?
Unfortunately it does not work across the entire operating system. However, Valve has told us that it will work with Steam Link app.
While gaming on the phone is an obvious use case, you can also mount your phone to keep close access to Discord or walkthroughs or watching streams while you play!
Can I 3D print my own?
Of course! While everything we sell is highly reliable Injection Molded parts, we love to support the maker community.
True to our open nature we have our 3D files available for download and printing here.
How is it possible to 3D print a Dock?
You wouldn't download a car, would you?
Actually, yes. Yes, you would.
We made an entirely different version of the Dock that uses the Controller cable that comes in the box. It's not as pretty, it won't have the nice heft of metal parts and great cosmetics, but most importantly, the weight needed for it to satisfyingly stay on your desk when you remove the controller is missing.
