In all honesty, we want to do business in an upfront and honest way. If you feel you deserve it, we will most likely honor it.

I've always found the Switch uncomfortable to use in handheld mode so I've tried a lot of the solutions out there, the Zengrip, Skull & Co, Fixture, Nitrodeck, Hori Splitpad (both Pro and Compact). Most of those didn't solve the comfort problem for me, and you can't dock the Switch without removing some of them, and some of them are not that easy to remove, certainly not something I'd want to constantly be putting on and taking off. The Hori Splitpads you can still dock the Switch with them attached, and the Compact model solves the comfort issue for me, but they lack gyro and HD Rumble, so that's not ideal.
Enter the Switchmate, which ticks almost all the boxes for me. I find it as comfortable as the best solution above and I don't lose gyro or HD rumble.
My main complaint would be you can't dock the Switch with the grip on, but it is easy enough to put on and take off (as long as you don't close the retaining clip on the top) that I don't mind it when I want to dock.
The lower middle of the Switchmate is cutaway so you can use the kickstands built into the Switch and Switch Oled, but I find the angles when using the Oled kickstand to be pretty severe so I prefer to use the Switchmate kickstand attachment.
The cartridge slots on the back were not a selling point for me, but I do like that they're there now that I have it. It's convenient to have whatever other 4 games I've been playing most recently just right there on the back for easy swap.
Overall I would say this is my favorite Switch grip solution so far.
My suggestions for revisions would be make it dockable, or make a little USB C passthrough block that can sit in the dock and raise it up enough that you can dock with the Switchmate attached. That and possibly rework the retaining clip on the top. Maybe it loosens up over time but once I lock that in I have to use an iFixit pry tool to unlock it. Fortunately the Switchmate holds on to the Switch well enough without closing the retaining clip, so I usually just don't close it.
Wish I could keep it on and be able to dock the switch. Other than that great addition to the switch.
Love the product. I got the stand to go with the grip and together they are perfect. Much more comfortable to hold and to set down with the grip and stand.
It's great, as long as you don't need the joy-cons separately, as it rests on the joy-cons themselves. So, for a plane ride, I need to pack two joy-cons, another controller, and the mechanism to use it, which is a lot for a carry-on. Not a fun thing to discover on a 9 hour flight.
i love the basegrip for the switch 1. i just really with they would make the basegrip for the switch 2 hold games the same way.

I would imagine it is great for using with the pillow, but the switch will fall out if don’t have the Joycons attached. Makes this unusable with the tray table mount.

It’s not quite as comfortable as I wanted it to be but it’s a solid product and the flexibility of their grip system is worth it.
I have a lot of different grips for my Switch OLED and they are all good in different ways. The one way they are not great is the fact they make the Switch OLED much bigger. The BaseGrip + is a nice middle ground. It is comfortable but not huge. Plus you now have the option to get accessories that fit the Mechanism ecosystem, like the gaming pillow, make your gaming experience more fun, comfortable, and convenient.
As with all mechanism products, this thing works exactly as advertised. Makes for a much more comfortable grip when playing in handheld mode. And allows for easy attachment to the many mechanism mounts. Goes great with the pillow.
It's alright but wish it was engineered a little better to be dockable.
So this connects to switch 1 device then it clips onto pillow? Bought the pillow and grip for legion go s but the device is too heavy for the grip/ball so pillow doesnt work well with legion go s. So im looking into the grips for switch 1
It shouldn't be too heavy for the Legion Go S. You can tighten down any hinges that get loose using the included 3mm allen key, but if it's still drooping shoot me over an email and I can help troubleshoot some more. But yes, as long as you have one of our grips/innies on any of your devices, you can swap them back and forth on the pillow as much as you want.
I intend to use this with the switch OLED on a ball mount attachment, am I able to remove the joycons and use them independently while the console is held by the grip?
Unfortunately no. The design of the Switch 1 Basegrip + relies on the joycons being attached. I know theres at least a few unofficial 3d printable options floating around out there but besides the adhesive Universal Grip, we don't have anything official yet that will let you play with those detached.
Will this (basegrip+ for nintendo switch 1) fit into the official dock?
No, but it's very easy to remove to dock your device. You just unclip the top, and then your switch slides right out to be able to dock.
Hello! Is the universal grip gonna fit both my Steam Deck OLED & Switch OLED or should I buy different grips for each device? Thanks a lot!
You'll need a dedicated grip for each device even if you choose to go the universal grip route. The Universal grip is adhesive so you'll only be able to use it on one device. If you don't have cases on your devices, I would recommend getting our device specific grips though!
Perhaps more request/suggestion than question, but is there any possibility of teaming up with Satisfye for a Satisfye Switch Grip with phone mount compatibility?
Your grip is never going to beat theirs. But, you could team up to make something great.
