Ball Socket Mount

I just received the gaming pillow for the ps portal and couldn’t be more impressed. It’s high quality, versatile & super comfortable. Shipping only took two days! Highly recommended.

First off, I love my Deckmate pillow and use it multiple times weekly. Works Great with my Steam Deck and PS Portal, I have no doubt it would support any similar system with ease. Sadly, the hinge lock is plastic. At first it gives a very affirmative (almost difficult) click when it locks. Over time the little nub of plastic that works as the lock wears down, leading to less secure locking, and eventually the plastic lock flap even broke.

I’d happily pay more for a more permanent metal replacement part. Luckily the warranty covers this part but mine had to be replaced within the year. Support was quick to respond and quick to ship the replacement. 5/5customer support. 4/5 on the pillow just based on the plastic parts, but the lock socket itself is a weak point.

Sadly the mount was defective and was missing the spring component. I’m still waiting for them to respond.

I had just bought a tablet arm to use with my Steam Deck and was trying different 3d printed ways to attach the Steam Deck to the arm and this Deckmate Ball Socket Mount came along at exactly the right time. Works perfectly and I love that it can lock in the mounted position

Good quality and does what its advertised to do. Paired this up with a tablet mount from Amazon (capable of holding up to 1.5kg) and it's basically been my way of playing in bed comfortably. Would recommend.

We have multiple ball socket compatible thingys in the house, like a gadget clamp arm and also one with a base. This little guy seamlessly replaces the previous gadget grip we had, and interchangeably holds the ROG or my phone. Only mini-gripe I have is sometimes when trying to adjust the angle or position, the ROG pops out -it's fixable by just loosening my ball socket mount a bit, but I do sometimes wish the lock was a very locked-lock.

The ball socket works incredible. This was a replacement piece that snapped during the use of the legion go mate. The ball itself works fantastic. The service was above and beyond. Thanks mechanism!!

I have used this ball mount to secure my Steam Deck to several configuartions throughout my home and when traveling. Some example configurations include a DIY claw mount using parts of a camera rig and mounting it to a floor stand intended for tablets. Great product, amazing service.

Intergral part of Mechaism gamining pillow and other products I imagine is pretty easy to attach and use allowing for good support. One one is to remove whatever device you have attached after use because prolonged use and lead to fractures on the clip rending it faulty. I contacted Mechanism and they sent me a replacement and a second one after first one got lost in mail. Props to them.

I love it, however, the locking mechanism is pretty stiff to actually lock the device, at least when compared to the one from the gaming pillow. I’m unsure if it’s defective, but it does work and secures the device in place.

I had this part replaced under warranty for my gaming pillow and the experience getting that completed was really smooth. Not sure why the locking piece failed but I am glad Mechanism stands by their products.

Fit, finish, and function is all there, but I worry about longevity of the locking clasp. It would be a good idea to add in a rubber pad to the inside of the socket so you don't have to tighten so aggressively on the screw cap, and that would keep the threading from premature wear.

Amazing. Works perfect on a floor standing iPad stand. I now mount my switch2 and an I have an amazing dual screen setup in the living room.

Fits perfectly on a desk mount solution I purchased previously. Works great and keeps my Steam Deck comfortably suspended above my head on the couch and in bed.

I bought this product in conjunction with the mechanism Steam Deck bracket; hoping to mount it, along with a ball mount, to the top of my rack on the submarine. When I purchased it, I had some real worries that it might not be able to handle the arguably pretty heavy Steam Deck consistently, but I figured what the heck, even if it lasts a month it will be worth it. Not only did it last the entire underway, but it performed like a champ. Genuinely a game changer. Now I could have a mounted screen, adjustable to face wherever I may be propped up in the rack, which I can hook up to a USB hub, to combine with a keyboard and mouse for a pretty traditional gaming experience with 0 fatigue.

On top of which it's a local company from my home town. Without a doubt the best purchase I've made, for any underway I have ever been on.
